Several people were injured by turbulence during a flight from the German city of Frankfurt to Mauritius on Thursday, Defi Media reported.

Around 20 passengers and crew members on board Condor flight DE2314 were injured when the plane hit turbulence while flying over Seychelles airspace, about two hours before landing.

According to a statement released by Mauritius’ Prime Minister’s Office, at least three injured passengers required urgent medical attention in hospital. 17 other passengers were admitted at Dr Jawaharall Nehru Hospital and are under medical surveillance.

The plane carried 272 passengers and 13 crew members and landed in Mauritius safely at 6:29 a.m. local time.

The island’s Ministry of Health and Wellness has extended psychological support to the passengers.
