Mauritius reopens airport after 24-hr closure, Air Mauritius reschedules flights

Mauritius reopened its international airport on Tuesday after tropical cyclone Freddy forced a 24-hour closure, with Air Mauritius rescheduling cancelled flights.

Airport authorities urged intending passengers to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights and not to proceed to the airport unless receiving confirmation of the revised departure time.

A number of Air Mauritius flights, including to London Heathrow, Kuala Lumpur and other destinations, which had been cancelled, have been rescheduled.

Passengers are already being contacted by the Air Mauritius Call Centre (202 7575) and flight information is being made available on the company website at airmauritius.com, through regular press communiqués and on social media platforms.

Air Mauritius has requested passengers not to come to the airport until they are advised of their rescheduled departure.
