Bank receives 8,900 loan applications for a total of Rs4.5 billion

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, 8,900 loan applications representing a total of Rs4.5 billion, have been received by the Development Bank of Mauritius.

Rs 3.4 billion have reportedly been approved for 7,050 beneficiaries – at a rate between 0 and 3.5% per year depending on the different loan plans.

These include the Capital Scheme, the Wage Support Scheme and the COVID-19 Special Support Scheme (which aims to support planters, fishermen, beach hawkers and other economic operators.
