Former bank chairman blasts political funding

The former SBM Chairman and economist, Kee Chong Lee Kwong Wing has blamed the age-old system of political funding to be the roots of all financial frauds in Mauritius.

He has told l’Express that there is an “undeniable conspiracy and essentially corrupt alliance” between the political class and economic oligarchs in most countries.

This is similar, he added, to an “incestuous relationship” on the basis of the financing of political parties.

He further alleged that the beneficiaries of the “massive fraudulent transactions” in the offshore sector are perpetrated by “none other than the highly connected rulers who rob the population (Kleptocrats) and who are also closely linked to the mafia.”
