Above 40? Still eligible for a civil service job, according to new regulation

The government has just reviewed the age limit for joining the civil service. Those over 40 can apply for a government job but may still be required to meet certain criteria.

Currently, the age limit for a job in government is 40 years for all grades, except for manual workers where it is 48 years.

This condition has reportedly been an obstacle to the recruitment of qualified candidates for certain positions that require specific qualifications that can only be obtained after several years of post-graduate studies and experience.

Such jobs include specialist doctors, architects, civil engineers and quantity surveyors.
