Island’s international reserves on the rise

The Gross Official International Reserves (GOIR) of Mauritius have increased by Rs1.4 billion, from Rs309.9 billion (equivalent to USD7,269.5 million) as at end-June 2021 to Rs311.3 billion (equivalent to USD7,261.0 million) as at end-July 2021.

According to latest figures released by the Bank of Mauritius, the GOIR rose by Rs5.1 billion compared to end-July 2020.

Based on the imports of goods and services for the calendar year 2020, international reserves represented 18.2 months of imports as at end-July 2021, compared to 18.1 months as at end-June 2021 and 17.9 months as at end-July 2020.
