Unstable Weekend Weather: Mauritius Faces 3 Days of Rain

A Special Weather Bulletin has been issued for Mauritius, with the weather outlook from Saturday 09 to Monday 11 March 2024.

The general situation indicates that atmospheric conditions will become unstable in the region over the weekend.

On Saturday 09, Mauritius can expect cloudy weather with showers that may be moderate to heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms in the afternoon.

These conditions will mainly affect the eastern half of the island and the central plateau.

The wind will be easterly at 20 km/h, becoming gusty during thundery showers.

Moving on to Sunday 10 and Monday 11, thundery showers are expected primarily over the southern sectors of the island.

However, an improvement in weather conditions is forecasted from Monday afternoon onwards.

The wind will shift to a northeasterly direction at 20 km/h, picking up in intensity during thundery showers.

Sea conditions are anticipated to be moderate, but may temporarily become rough during thundery showers.

Residents and visitors are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the weather updates during this period.
