India will fund the construction of a ‘Disciplined Forces Academy’ for Mauritius at a cost of Rs 2 billion.

The financing will be provided through a credit line, announced Pravind Jugnauth during the Prime Minister’s Question Time in Parliament on Tuesday, in response to a question posed by Government MP Kavi Doolup.

According to the Prime Minister, this academy will be equipped with modern training facilities for the police and will contribute to tackling security challenges.

Jugnauth also stressed that the agreement with the Indian government concerning Agalega includes technical training facilities for the police force.
