CIM Finance has made history by issuing its first Green Bonds on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.

A ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by senior officials of the SEM and the Financial Services Commission (FSC).

CIM Finance became the first company to issue a green bond in Mauritius last year, in accordance with the guidelines of the FSC.

The company has now become the first to list and trade a green bond on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.

With Rs 1,100,000 of shares officially listed, the new bond issuance, worth Rs 1.5 billion, is part of CIM Finance’s strategy to become a trusted partner for investors and consumers in green finance.

The bond matures on November 4, 2024, with a yield of 3.95% per annum, and will strengthen the group’s liquidity, maintain its financial flexibility, and extend the maturity of its funding.

CIM Finance used the proceeds from a previous green bond issuance in January 2022, valued at Rs 500 million, to finance more than 230 hybrid and electric vehicles in the local market.
