Investment: Mauritius Receives Rs 13.51 Billion in the First Half of 2023
Mauritius has witnessed a surge in direct investment inflows, totalling Rs 13.51 billion in the first half of 2023, as per data released by the Bank of Mauritius.
This figure represents a notable increase from the Rs 10.09 billion recorded during the corresponding period in 2022.
During the initial six months of 2023, the real estate sector emerged as the primary beneficiary of these direct investment inflows, closely followed by the accommodation and food service sector.
Notably, the major contributors to Mauritius’ direct investment influx were France (Rs 2.8 billion) and South Africa (Rs 1.5 billion).
