Development Project: 310 Acres Offered for Hotels, Ecotourism, and More

The Economic Development Board (EDB) has initiated a call for expressions of interest regarding the development of various projects on approximately 310 acres of government land in Palmar, Mauritius.
The proposed projects include hotels, ecotourism ventures, and retirement residences, among others.
A strict evaluation process will determine the allocation of land to eligible candidates based on their project proposals.
Notably, 25 acres of the site constitute protected natural wetlands.
The EDB has insisted on the need for projects to be aligned with the site’s physical attributes and market expectations.
To be considered, prospective investors must provide a comprehensive business plan, demonstrate prior experience in similar projects, and prove their financial capability.
Eligible activities encompass hotel developments, tourism-related ventures, ecotourism projects, commercial complexes (such as nightclubs, casinos, and cinemas), retirement homes, restaurants, and craft markets.
