Water Levels Slightly Lower Than Last Year: CWA Assures No Drastic Cut-offs

As of October 13, 2023, the main reservoir in Mauritius stands at 67.5%.

While this is lower compared to August, the Central Water Authority (CWA) has assured that no severe water cuts or changes in distribution schedules are planned.

The overall reservoir fill rate is 72%, slightly less than the 73.1% recorded the previous year.

With lower rainfall predicted, the CWA said there is a coordinated effort to manage water distribution effectively.

The Water Resources Monitoring Committee will make decisions regarding water regulations based on regional water stress levels.
