Shockwaves in Mauritius Horse Racing as Deanthan Moodley Ousted from Key Positions

Deanthan Moodley has been removed from his positions as a member of the Horse Racing Committee and Chief Stipe of the Horse Racing Division.

This was reportedly confirmed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority.

While the latter’s statement did not provide immediate reasons for Moodley’s termination, it is speculated that his controversial decisions as Chief Stipe and strained relations with race organiser People’s Turf played a significant role in his ousting.

His exclusion from investigations and the influence of Jean-Michel Lee Shim, a self-confessed financier of the MSM ruling party, on the GRA speeded up the decision.
