MCB has received dual recognition at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence.

The bank was honoured with the titles of “Best Bank for Digital Solutions” and “Best Corporate Bank for Mauritius.”

Euromoney praised MCB for enhancing the MCB Juice application with various new features, including those related to home loans and QR codes.

Another noteworthy app, Juice Pro, designed for entrepreneurs, saw a 25% increase in users following the addition of new functionalities.

These advancements contributed to a 50% growth in digital payments, a 20% rise in merchant acceptance of digital payments, and a 10% improvement in consumer satisfaction rates.

Additionally, MCB was recognised as the “Best Corporate Bank for Mauritius” by Euromoney.

The magazine highlighted MCB’s significant role in the corporate segment in Mauritius, citing its robust performance and involvement in major regional transactions.

The bank commands a 45% market share in loans and advances to businesses in Mauritius. Euromoney noted MCB’s successful leveraging of its African network to expand its involvement in financing energy projects.

In terms of sustainable projects, MCB acted as the lead arranger for the acquisition of Lekela Power, the largest renewable energy platform in Africa, in a transaction totalling USD 1.9 billion.
