Inspectors Raise Concerns About FSC CEO's Conduct

Inspectors at the Financial Services Commission (FSC) have expressed concerns about the conduct of the CEO, Dhanesswurnath Thakoor.

In a letter dated September 29th, addressed to the Ministry of Financial Services, they claimed to feel apprehensive about performing their duties.

The letter alleges that the CEO initiated an investigation against four inspectors based on a perceived weak complaint from the wife of a former Director of Public Prosecutions.

Thakoor was cited as responding that all complaints from licensees are thoroughly investigated to enhance inspections.

He also dismissed the letter as an attempt at sensationalism and assured a consistent approach to internal investigations. Sanctions may follow if complaints are substantiated.
