Ramgoolam Calls for Removal of Taxes
Navin Ramgoolam, leader of the Labour party, criticised the recent surge in fuel prices, attributing responsibility to Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy, and STC Director Rajiv Servansingh.
Ramgoolam called for the removal of excise duty and VAT from the fuel price structure, suggesting this would alleviate the situation.
He also voiced concerns about what he termed a “disastrous management of the economy.”
This statement was made following his participation in the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations in L’aventure.
