Rs1.6Billion Artemis Curepipe Hospital Officially Inaugurated

Artemis Curepipe Hospital, established by Dr Zouberr Joomaye at a cost of Rs 1.6 billion, was formally inaugurated on October 2, 2023, in the presence of Kobita Jugnauth, the wife of the Prime Minister.
Since its launch in June 2023, the facility has reportedly achieved success in conducting two open-heart surgeries, leveraging the expertise of its Indian partner, Artemis Hospitals, to provide top-tier medical care.
During the launch event, Health Minister Dr. Kailesh Jagutpal underscored the pivotal role played by collaboration between the public and private sectors.
This synergy allows Mauritians to access the specialised knowledge of Indian medical professionals without the necessity of overseas travel, especially for intricate surgical procedures not currently available in public hospitals.
Minister Jagutpal also explored opportunities for training Mauritian doctors during his visit to Artemis Hospital in India while attending the G20 summit.
