DPP’s 69 questions to Police Commissioner

In an ongoing institutional dispute between Police Commissioner Anil Kumar Dip and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Me Rashid Ahmine, the DPP has submitted a list of sixty-nine questions to Commissioner Dip seeking clarification on various aspects of their disagreement.

This development occurred during a court session on September 21, 2023, where Commissioner Dip has lodged a constitutional complaint against the DPP. He is urging the Supreme Court to declare that the DPP and those under his authority have exceeded their powers in certain police investigations.

The questions raised cover a range of pertinent issues, including the authority of the DPP to request investigation files and the role of the President in the matter. Commissioner Dip requested an adjournment to provide detailed responses, with the case set to resume on October 19, 2023.
