Heavy rain, thunderstorms coming our way as from this Friday

A low pressure is evolving to the north-west of St-Brandon and has intensified into a tropical disturbance – likely to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Based on latest satellite observations, the Met Office said the tropical disturbance is expected to pass to the west of Mauritius in the afternoon of Friday 17 March.

Clouds associated with the tropical disturbance will start to influence weather as from this afternoon, causing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The showers will become more frequent as from Friday and will be heavy at times with thunderstorms. The showers are expected to persist till Saturday 18.

It is advised not to venture at sea as from Friday afternoon.
