Political activist Ivann Bibi has asked the police to initiate an investigation against ministers Bobby Hurreeram and Stephan Toussaint to establish whether they breached the Quarantine Act.

Bibi lodged a Precautionary Measure at the Vacoas Police Station, stating the two ministers organized a meeting at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB)in Plaine Magnien on April 6.

According to prevailing protocols, the premises of the CAB, community centres and Village Halls are supposed to be closed.

The activist said that Bobby Hurreeram and Stephan Toussaint went against the law by holding the meeting.

“Police must investigate. The law must apply to all and without discrimination”.

The President of the village and three other people were arrested in the aftermath of the controversial meeting.
