Tourism ministry, operators target one million tourists

Despite all odds, Mauritius is targeting to welcome one million tourists by the end of the year.

This is the objective set by the Ministry of Tourism and the industry operators.

All have reportedly agreed to put up new strategies, including the implementation of a new slogan “One Mauritius”.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs of Mauritius (AHRIM) has told Defi Media that the initiatives towards a rapid recovery of the tourism sector for the year 2022 “must be part of a medium and long-term strategy as our markets become more accessible.”

He added that connectivity remains a key factor in attaining this objective.
