Mauritian talks about Chagos in finals of Africa’s Ultimate Storyteller Contest

Mauritian Kendy Mangra is a finalist in Africa’s Ultimate Storyteller Contest. The contest is judged partially based on engagement.

Entitled “Biden, Johnson: Keep your money, just send me home”, the entry video speaks about the deportation of the Chagos people from Diego Garcia island.

“Many of them were kicked out of their motherland with the island now used as a US military naval base. It has been 50 years now, and the Chagos people just want to go home…”
