Ahmad Jeewa appointed Chairperson of Equal Opportunities Commission

Former Civil Service Minister Ahmad Jeewa (2000-2005) has been appointed as the new chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) on the recommendation of PM Pravind Jugnauth.

Jeewah succeeds to Khalid Tegally, who passed away on August 6.

Ahmad Jeewah, a long-time stalwart of the MMM, had submitted his resignation from the party on August 26, 2019 to join the ranks of the MSM ruling party.
