Former Minister Yogida Sawmynaden Pleads Not Guilty to Forgery Charges in Rs 15,000 Salary Case

Former Commerce Minister Yogida Sawmynaden has pleaded not guilty to charges of forgery and making use of forged documents.

These charges stem from a complaint filed by Simla Kistnen, the widow of a former MSM agent, who alleged that she was falsely declared as Yogida Sawmynaden’s Constituency Clerk with a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 while he was in office.

The trial is set to proceed on January 16, 2024, with ten witnesses slated to testify in the case. Sawmynaden is represented by legal counsel Raouf Gulbul and Aleem Boccus.
