PwC's IFRS Deep Dives 2024: Finance Training Game-Changer

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a leading audit firm, has announced the launch of IFRS Deep Dives 2024, a specialized training program on IFRS standards 9, 15, and 16 for financial teams of companies operating in various sectors.

Starting from March 14th, these three half-day sessions aim to help participants better understand the issues and developments related to these IFRS standards.

IFRS accounting rules were implemented to enhance financial reporting transparency and improve the process and harmonization of accounting practices, making it easier to compare companies’ results even when they are located in different jurisdictions.

Since the implementation of IFRS standards in Mauritius, local businesses have reaped several benefits from aligning with international best practices.

They are now able to raise funds on financial markets, facilitating the decision-making process for potential investors or shareholders looking to increase their capital contribution.

Raj Ghunowa, Head of Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) at PwC Mauritius, emphasizes the importance of regular updates on IFRS standards to stay informed about relevant topics. “This is crucial for financial executives, requiring a continuous process of in-depth analysis, ongoing support, and continuous training, preferably by an experienced professional.”

The training sessions offered by PwC aim to create a unique experience that encourages collaboration, learning, and exchanging views on IFRS concepts and principles.

These sessions not only draw upon the expertise of seasoned trainers in accounting techniques but also combine gamification, human interaction, and technology in line with PwC’s strategy, The New Equation.
