Water Levels at Mare-aux-Vacoas Alarming: Approaching Dangerous Decline

Following suit after La Nicolière, the water levels at Mare-aux-Vacoas are dwindling rapidly.
The water level is approaching a worrisome 50%, causing concern. As of yesterday, the fill rate stood at 68.9%, whereas at the same time last year, it registered at 77.4%.
It’s worth noting that on September 11th, the reservoir was at 78.1% capacity. It took just a month for a significant decline in water levels.
As a reminder, Mare-aux-Vacoas is the second-largest reservoir in the country, with a capacity of 20.21 million cubic meters (Mm³), while Midlands Dam can hold 25.31 Mm³.
