Finance Minister Questions Long-term Achievements of previous Governments

Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy, addressing partisans of the MSM ruling party at Grand-Bois, questioned the long-term achievements of the previous Labour government.
He raised concerns about tax policies that allegedly favoured the wealthy while burdening the poor.
The minister also highlighted an increase in pensions over the past decade, insisting on the current government’s efforts to improve living conditions.
Padayachy commended the initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth’s administration, asserting that no previous government had done as much for the population.
“We are gearing up to have Pravind Jugnauth re-elected in 2024,” he said.
The remarks were made during an extended meeting of the MSM party’s regional committee in Rivière des Anguilles/Souillac (No. 13) held in Grand Bois.
