Institutional Crisis: Dabeedin Seeks to Intervene in CP-DPP Conflict

Chavansingh Dabeedin, a former executive at the Central Electricity Board (CEB), seeks to intervene in the institutional and legal dispute between the Commissioner of Police (CP) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Dabeedin’s name was mentioned in the complaint filed by CP Anil Kumar Dip against DPP Me Rashid Ahmine.

He argues that the charges against him, brought by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), were dismissed in July 2022.

The case was heard on September 13, 2023, with an adjournment set for October 30. Former Mauritius Telecom CEO Sherry Singh and his wife Varsha also aim to intervene in the same case. Their hearing is scheduled for October 30, 2023.
