Anticyclone Brings Cold Tempest, Showers, Fog and 3-metre waves

The strong anticyclone to the South of the Mascarenes is causing moderate and relatively cold trades over our region.

“Clouds coming from the Eastern sector are still influencing the local weather,” the Mauritius Met said in a bulletin issued this Sunday at 11.30am.

FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS

Partly cloudy to cloudy at times this afternoon with showers mostly to the East, the South and over the highgrounds.

The maximum temperature will be between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius along the coasts.

Cloudy periods tonight and tomorrow morning with showers. These showers will be moderate at times.

Fog patches will also be present in some regions. The minimum temperature will be between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius over the high-grounds and between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius along the coastal regions.

The wind will blow from the East-South-East at about 25 km/h with gusts of the order of 50 km/h, strenghening further in showers.

The sea rough beyond the reefs with wave of the order of 3 metres. Ventures in the open sea as well as the eastern and southern lagoons are not advised.
