Rectors of State Schools urge Education Ministry to postpone resumption of classes

The Union of Rectors and deputy rectors of State Secondary Schools (URDRSSS) have asked the Ministry of Education to postpone the resumption of studies to Monday 07 February 2022, in lieu of an immediate one just after the cyclone.

In a letter to the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Education, rectors argued that heavy showers will persist for a few days, and the lack of proper ventilation in public buses could lead to a surge of COVID-19.

The union has proposed that online teaching and learning be considered until full resumption of classes.
