Drugs worth Rs6.8million found in 14-year-old girl's bag

A shocking discovery was reportedly made by the grandmother of a 14-year-old girl during the week-end after she noticed the teenager with a bag that wasn’t hers.

l’Express reported that the elderly woman, a resident of Grand Gaube, took the teenager to the local police station after she felt the bag was suspicious.

On opening the bag, officers reportedly found almost 400 grams of heroin wrapped with a black tape.

The teenager claimed to know nothing about the content of the pack, which was allegedly given to her by her 18-year-old boyfriend, also a resident of Grand Gaube, for safekeeping.

The boyfriend has been arrested – he has exercised his right to silence.

On Saturday, police arrested another resident of Grand Gaube after discovering 5.8kg of cannabis in the trunk of his car.

The 31 year-old man was arrested near Caudan waterfront.
