Larsen & Toubro emerges as largest construction company in Mauritius

The Indian construction contracting company, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) is now ranked as the first company in Mauritius with highest revenues in the construction sector.

L&T’s revenues hit Rs 4.5 billion in 2020 with profits before taxes stood at Rs 1.1 billion as at March 2020.

This was revealed in the Top 100 list of Mauritian companies compiled by Business Magazine, a subsidiary of La Sentinelle Group.

L&T is now also the 30^th largest company in Mauritius.

L&T has bagged government contracts including the Metro Express project, a new institute for medical sciences at Flacq among others. It has secured a new order to extend the mainline corridor of the Mauritius Metro by 3.4 km from Rose Hill Interchange towards Ebene reaching Reduit near the University of Mauritius. 

UBP now stands at the second place followed by the General Construction.
