Go for the third dose of the vaccine, says Jugnauth

“Administering a third jab to the population is another government strategy to contain COVID-19. It is based on the recommendations of doctors, experts and researchers,” PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth has been quoted as telling the country on national TV.

He announced that negotiations are ongoing to purchase almost a million doses of Pfizer vaccine.

The dates as to when the vaccines will be available will be announced end of October. Jugnauth also pointed out that 85% of those who died of COVID-19 were not fully vaccinated.

Some 873,817 people have received one dose of anti-COVID vaccine and 824,665 people have received two doses.
