New British envoy to Mauritius: Charlotte Pierre succeeds to Keith Allen

The former Head of National Security Team, Conflict Department of the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is the new British envoy to Mauritius.

Charlotte Pierre has been appointed British High Commissioner to the island in succession to Keith Allan who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service, the UK’s Ministry of Foreign has announced.

The new envoy started her career in 2000 and has worked in numerous jurisdictions, including the Middle East. She was Programme Manager in Jerusalem from 2012 to 2013. She was DFID Deputy Director, Syria, Iraq and Turkey from 2018 to 2019.

Before her appointment as High Commissioner to Mauritius, Charlotte Pierre was Deputy Director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (West Africa Department, Africa Directorate).

Charlotte Pierre will take up her appointment during August 2021.

She is married and mother of 2.
