Heroic Delivery: Police Officer Assists Birth in Patrol Car

A female police officer from the Abercrombie Police Station successfully delivered a newborn baby inside a patrol car on Tuesday, 5 May.

The dramatic events unfolded after a woman went into labour while travelling on a bus near the local police station.

When her water broke, concerned bystanders rushed to the station to raise the alarm. Officers, including a female constable, responded immediately to the scene.

Recognising the urgency of the situation, the woman was placed inside a police vehicle to be rushed to the hospital. However, the baby could not wait.

While in transit, the policewoman remained in constant telephone contact with a doctor, who guided her through the delivery process.

Under the officer’s assistance, the woman gave birth successfully within the vehicle.

Both the mother and her infant were subsequently transported to the hospital for further care.

Medical staff have confirmed that both are in good health following the unconventional delivery.
