New Chief Operating Officer Brings 20 Years Experience to Rejoin Mauritius FSC
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) has appointed Heeraman Jowaheer as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), according to an official communiqué issued by the regulator on Sunday, 7 June.
Mr Jowaheer will officially assume his new role on 1 July 2026.
As COO, he will be tasked with overseeing the FSC’s operational and strategic functions. His primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient delivery in strict alignment with the organisation’s mandate as a regulator.
The Commission highlighted that Mr Jowaheer brings a wealth of expertise to the position, specifically in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and institutional transformation.
He joins the executive role with more than 20 years of experience in the regulation and supervision of non-banking financial services, spanning both Mauritius and the international arena.
Over his career, he has held several leadership positions across the United States, the Cayman Islands, England, India, and within the FSC itself.
