US Navy Moves 2 Seized Iranian Oil Tankers to Remote Diego Garcia

Two Iranian-linked oil tankers seized by the United States have reportedly been transferred to the strategic military outpost of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

The move comes amid heightened international scrutiny and follows an American naval operation in the Arabian Sea where the vessels were first intercepted.

Maritime tracking data confirmed the tankers were heading toward the isolated base before their Automatic Identification System (AIS) signals were deactivated.

The decision to utilize the remote Indian Ocean territory suggests that regional neighbors, including Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, may have refused to allow the seized vessels to dock in their domestic ports.

The tankers were intercepted last week against a backdrop of intensifying maritime friction between Washington and Tehran.

The operation has sparked a sharp backlash from international observers, with some analysts labeling the seizure as an act of “piracy.”

Critics argue the move breaches international law and have issued urgent calls for global authorities to intervene as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
