Mauritius cancels cooking oil deal with India
The State Trading Corporation has cancelled the contract with India on the import of 400,000 litres of cooking oil over the country’s failure to deliver the commodity on time.
“The shipment is stuck in Sri Lanka,” said Rajiv Servansingh, CEO of the State Trading Corporation (STC).
He added that the country has enough cooking oil for the next three months after buying 1 million litres from Moroil.
He reassured that the STC is “monitoring” the international situation very closely.
“Egypt will start exporting again from September, and the situation in Ukraine will also normalize,” he said.
Another international bid has been launched.
