Tourism Authority Chair Suspended amid Investigation into Irregularities
The Mauritian Cabinet has ordered an immediate investigation into the Mauritius Tourism Authority following allegations of irregular practices involving its chairperson, José Arunasalom.
During a meeting held on Friday, 6 March 2026, ministers reviewed the claims made against Mr Arunasalom.
Consequently, the Cabinet has officially directed that a formal inquiry be conducted into the allegations.
Furthermore, authorities have initiated the necessary procedures to ensure Mr Arunasalom is suspended from his position with immediate effect.
