Suspended police superintendent, Ashik Jagai, is being actively sought by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) for allegedly violating the terms of his bail. The FCC accused him of interfering with a key witness, a breach of the FCC Act and a direct contravention of his bail conditions.

Multiple FCC teams have been dispatched to apprehend Jagai, who is currently suspended from his duties.

The search follows a complaint filed by activist Bruneau Laurette, who alleged that Jagai met with Steven Moothoocurpen in Moka on Monday, 8th September, at around 1:30 PM.

Both men are currently out on bail under strict conditions that prohibit them from interfering with witnesses or making contact with other suspects. Moothoocurpen is on bail in a separate money-laundering case.

In his complaint, Laurette claimed the FCC is investigating the potential transfer of “Reward Money” to companies owned by Jagai’s son.

He also stated that Jagai is a business associate of Moothoocurpen through a company called Ziya Property & Development Ltd. Laurette noted that the location of the alleged meeting is under video surveillance, and the footage could confirm the encounter.
