Yogita Baboo Rama Dismissal: 2 Years of Legal Battle Ends
The dispute between Yogita Baboo Rama and Air Mauritius has been resolved. On Wednesday morning, the former airline employee officially withdrew her complaint from the Industrial Court. She had challenged the termination of her contract and was seeking compensation and other unpaid amounts.
Nearly 2 years after her dismissal, the two parties reached an amicable agreement. In a joint statement, Air Mauritius and Yogita Baboo Rama announced that they have settled all issues and that the dispute is now “fully and permanently resolved.”
They also confirmed that no further financial claims related to her contract termination remain. The specific terms of the agreement have not been made public.
Yogita Baboo Rama, who was then president of the Air Mauritius Cabin Crew Association (AMCCA), was immediately dismissed on July 10, 2023.
Her firing followed her refusal to appear before a disciplinary committee set up by the company’s management, after she made comments on a private radio station that were deemed damaging to Air Mauritius’s image.
Yogita Baboo Rama argued she was simply sharing concerns raised by the airline’s crew members. She had worked for Air Mauritius for 27 years before her sudden dismissal.
The case is now closed, marking the end of a two-year legal battle.
