Trade Unions bringing together healthcare workers have sounded the alarm bells on the COVID-19 situation.

According to them, 10 to 15 medical staff are being tested positive for the virus on a daily basis.

So far, around 35-40 nurses are in self-isolation.

The Mauritius Labor Congress, the Nurses Union and the Ministry of Health Transport Workers Union have told a press conference that the situation is “unmanageable” in hospitals – which are currently facing an acute shortage of staff.
