‘No vaccine=no pay’ rule denounced

Civil servants in the education sector are up at arms against the Circular 26 of the COVID-19 (Restriction of access to specified institutions) Regulations.

The circular claims that if access is denied to a civil servant (on the ground that he/she is not vaccinated), the latter’s absence will be considered as a non-remunerated one (without pay).

Trade Unions consider the new regulation as “illegal, if not anticonstitutional.” They added that the Supreme Court had already ruled on the matter, but alleged that the judgment is not being enforced.
