Banks to open in ‘red zone’
Almost all banks in the red zone (constituencies 15, 16 and 17) are reported to be operational from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday, Defi reported, adding that only basic banking services will be available. In Curepipe, banks that are open are MCB, SBM, Absa, MauBank and HSBC. In Mesnil, only SBM will be open while in Vacoas, banks to open are SBM, MauBank and Bank One.
