MT Denies Data Confidentiality Breach After 3rd-Party Allegations

Mauritius Telecom (MT) has strongly denied claims of a data breach, reassuring customers that their personal information remains safe. The telecommunications giant launched an immediate investigation into allegations of a potential data exposure linked to a third-party service provider.

Preliminary findings have shown no evidence of unauthorised access or compromised customer data within MT’s systems. In a statement issued today, the company confirmed that no intrusion was found.

MT affirmed its commitment to data security, stating that the “confidentiality of data is our absolute priority.”

The company added that it continues to invest in “best practices and cybersecurity technologies” to strengthen its systems.

In its statement, Mauritius Telecom also issued a warning against attempts to spread false information aimed at causing public alarm or damaging trust.

It said such actions will not be tolerated and will be “followed with all the required attention.”
