Mauritius Sees 40% Decline in Marriages
Weddings in Mauritius are on the decline, according to new data from Statistics Mauritius, with forecasts pointing to a significant drop in marriages for 2025.
The number of unions is projected to fall to around 7,500 for the year, a marked decrease from the 8,036 marriages registered in 2024.
This trend is already evident in the first half of 2025, during which 3,424 marriages were recorded in Mauritius, compared to 3,667 over the same period in 2024.
