5 Families Evacuated as LKS Factory Fire Erupts at 2 AM

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a devastating fire erupted at the LKS factory in Riche-Terre. The alarm was raised around 2 a.m., and by 7:30 a.m., firefighters were still on the scene, battling the flames that continued to rage.

Pravind Rughoo, the communications officer for the National Emergency Operations Command (NEOC), confirmed that the Riche-Terre road has been closed to traffic as a precautionary measure.

Five families residing in the vicinity were evacuated.

The full extent of the damage and the cause of this alarming incident remain to be uncovered.
