Saturday afternoon, February 15th, scene of dramatic tension unfolded as a heavy police presence descended upon Angus Road, the residence of former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. The arrival of law enforcement, reported at around 4:30 PM, signalled the commencement of a raid conducted by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), sparking an investigation into alleged money laundering.

Officers of the FCC were seen undertaking a meticulous search of the ex-Prime Minister’s home as shadows lengthened across the grounds.

Earlier, Saturday, February 15th, the FCC issued a crucial directive, a “Notification on Departure”, to the Commissioner of Police and the Director General of the Passport and Immigration Office.

The circular, obtained by Defi Media‘s sources, demands that authorities immediately alert the FCC should Pravind Jugnauth, his wife Kobita Jugnauth, her brother Sanjiv Ramdanee, or Basoodeo Seetaram – a director of several businesses and a close associate of the previous government – attempt to leave the country.
