Bank of Mauritius Appoints 2 New Deputy Governors
On December 3, the Bank of Mauritius announced the confirmation of Rajeev Hasnah as the First Deputy Governor and Gérard Sanspeur as the Second Deputy Governor. Their appointments, which took effect on December 2, were made by the President of the Republic, Prithvirajsingh Roopun, following a recommendation from Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.
This decision was in accordance with Section 14 of the Bank of Mauritius Act 2004.
Both Hasnah and Sanspeur will work alongside the new Governor, Rama Sithanen, contributing to the leadership team of the central bank as it navigates the financial landscape of Mauritius.
Their expertise and experience are expected to play a vital role in the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote economic stability and growth in the region.
