A screenshot of a Mauritius islet, shared on a popular Reddit thread dedicated to unusual Google Maps discoveries, has taken the internet by storm.

The picture was shared by a Google Maps user claiming to have discovered an island that, when tilted clockwise by 90 degrees, resembles a famous movie star.

Any idea? No?

Think ‘Baby Yoda’ from the Disney film The Mandalorian, or even Star Wars.

The image was contributed to the Reddit thread by user u/No Raptors, who captioned it “Baby Yoda Island.”

Two enormous projecting areas on the island could be regarded as Yoda ears.

In fact, it is Gunners Quoin (French: Coin de Mire), a 65-hectare island located about 8km north of Mauritius.

It is an uninhabited island, protected by a nature reserve, on which no landing is allowed.

Many people believe the Yoda resemblance is accurate.

“I imagine baby Yoda wrapped in a blanket,” one person wrote.

“I saw old Yoda with his small walking stick placed over his breast,” another claimed.

After this post, don’t be surprised if Coin de Mire is increasingly referred to as ‘Yoda Island’ .
